New age telemark company TELE COLO reintroduces their annual video contest for the 2026 season. Teams of telemark skiers gear up to compete and film challenges to be crowned the Kings and Queens of the Heel. Traditionally teams can win the KQTH Most Points award or the Voters Choice #WECARE award for brining positive vibes. Last years most point winners were based in Williams Lake, BC, CAN and scored a whopping 19,539 points.
They’ve decided to switch things up this year and crown one team the overall winner for scoring the most points and supplying fun vibes. TELE COLO has crafted a task booklet detailing rules and specifics of the competition along with all the on-snow challenges and their point values. Challenges include skills based telemark skiing along with park tricks and many more random ideas such as telemarking a run with your boots on the opposite feet. The final score comes down to a 50% vote from the judges/community members and 50% point based to crown one team the ultimate winners.
The competition is all in good fun and helps to develop a culture of positivity and fun surrounding telemarking as a reemerging ski discipline. The essence of this video contest hits right at the center of TELE COLO’s vision for the new wave of tele skiing. Having fun and spending time with quality people on the slopes is the perfect way to establish a culture that supports the growth and survival of this sport.
