1. NYC rideshare drivers worry Hochul’s robotaxi proposal will kill jobs

Waymo is already testing eight autonomous vehicles on New York City streets under a special permit, but the cars are not yet allowed to pick up passengers and must have a human behind the wheel.

Now, Gov. Kathy Hochul is proposing legislation that would allow a limited number of driverless rideshare vehicles to operate elsewhere in the state. The proposal is raising concerns among for-hire drivers, who fear job losses and wage declines.

2. Protesters march in Midtown against first year of Trump’s second term
