Brooklyn Beckham is standing by his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, amid their feud with his family.
The model, who is the eldest son of former professional soccer player David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, met the actress at Coachella in 2017, though they didn’t start dating until years later after reconnecting at a party. They got engaged in July 2020 and wed in April 2022, which also marked a turning point in what would become a long-standing family feud.
On Jan. 19, Brooklyn broke his silence on the rumored rift in a bombshell-filled message on his Instagram Stories, in which he alleged that his parents have been “trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding.”
“My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one,” he wrote in one slide of the message.
Nearly one week earlier, Brooklyn shared a heartfelt birthday tribute to Nicola on Instagram, writing, “I love you with all my heart and I am the luckiest man to call you my wife.”

She grew up in New York

Nicola grew up in Westchester County, N.Y., where she was raised by her mom Claudia and dad Nelson, who is a billionaire investor. In a 2022 interview with Grazia, Nicola said she views her parents as “anti-Hollywood.”
“My family is not in the limelight,” she said. “I don’t see them like that at all.”
Nicola grew up alongside seven siblings, including one sister and six brothers, whom she described as “ridiculously protective” to Interview Magazine in June 2014.
“Some brothers more than the others, but I definitely go to them for advice,” she said. “I’ll always be the baby in the family. I’m the youngest sister, but growing up with so many boys, it makes you tough. You get teased. There’s no tiptoeing around each other. You say it the way it is; you’re honest.”
Nicola also shared with the outlet that she played ice hockey as a young girl, describing herself as a “total tomboy.”
She is an actress and director

Nicola is an actor and director. Her career began at a young age, as she told Interview Magazine that she got a manager at 12 years old after enjoying an acting class in school. Nicola explained that her mom was initially “against it,” but eventually became “super supportive.”
“It took a lot of convincing,” Nicola said. “But when I got a job at Manhattan Theatre Club, I think she saw how passionate I was about it and that I worked really hard—and now she’s super supportive.”
She has since appeared in 2010’s The Last Airbender, 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction and 2020’s Holidate. As for television, she is known for her role as Bradley Martin in A&E’s Bates Motel, and is also among the cast of Ryan Murphy‘s new FX series, The Beauty, which premieres in January 2026.
In January 2024, Nicola made her directorial debut in Lola, which she also starred in and wrote the screenplay for.
They met at Coachella in 2017 — but didn’t start dating until years later

Brooklyn and Nicola first met at Coachella in 2017. Both were in respective relationships at the time, but they reconnected years later when they ran into each other at Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Halloween party in 2019.
Reflecting on that night in a June 2025 conversation with Glamour, Nicola recalled asking Brooklyn for help getting one of her friends in, to which he “didn’t hesitate.”
“Two days later, we had our first kiss,” she said. “That’s when the story really began.”
Nicola later visited Brooklyn in London, and just before she was about to leave, he bought the last seat on the plane and flew back to New York with her, as he told Vogue in September 2022.
“That’s the moment I knew I never wanted to be separated from her,” he said, while Nicola echoed the sentiment.
The pair made their relationship Instagram official in January 2020, followed by their first public outing together at Paris Fashion Week the next month.
They got married in April 2022

After getting engaged in July 2020, Brooklyn and Nicola tied the knot on April 9, 2022. Their elegant wedding took place on Nicola’s family estate in Palm Beach, Fla. Both of their families attended, as well as a slew of celebrities, including Serena and Venus Williams, Jordana Brewster and Gordon Ramsay.
The following month, Brooklyn shared on his Instagram Stories that he got his wedding vows tattooed on his arm. That August, he showed off his new “Married” tattoo on his Instagram Stories, writing, “Surprised my baby.”
While the pair shared some sweet moments from their nuptials — including a “perfect” drive they took just the two of them and how everything “disappeared” as they exchanged vows — the occasion also marked a turning point in their long-rumored family feud with Brooklyn’s parents, David and Victoria.
Notably, Nicola didn’t wear one of Victoria’s wedding dress designs as planned. Although she told Variety in August 2022 that there was no clash over the dress, Brooklyn claimed on his Instagram Stories on Jan. 19 that his mom canceled making Nicola’s wedding dress “in the eleventh hour, despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”
The dress wasn’t the only point of tension surrounding the wedding, as Brooklyn also claimed on his Instagram Stories that his mom “hijacked” his wedding dance with Nicola. “I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he said of the moment.
Beckham said he will “always choose” Peltz amid his feud with his parents

Amid rumors of their family feud, Brooklyn shared an Instagram video of him and Nicola in late May 2025, captioned with a heartfelt tribute in which he wrote that he would “always choose” her.
“My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby❤️❤️,” the caption read.
In his Jan. 19 message on his Instagram Stories, Brooklyn outlined his wishes for his and Nicola’s futures, writing, “My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want [is] peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
