Jets Offense

New York entered 2025 with former Bears and Steelers QB Justin Fields under center. Fields has yet to throw an interception this season and has seven combined touchdowns (four passing and three rushing). He became the first quarterback since at least 1950 to have zero interceptions and zero wins in their first six starts of a season and was subsequently benched during Week 7 in favor of veteran signal caller Tyrod Taylor. Taylor has appeared in three games this season, throwing three touchdowns to three interceptions.

First-year head coach Aaron Glenn has yet to name a starter for Week 8 at Paycor Stadium.

“That’s something that I want to continue to look at,” Glenn said Monday. “I want to make sure I make the right decision. I don’t want to make rash decisions, either. I just want to make sure when the decision is made, it will be the right one.”

The passing offense has run through WR Garrett Wilson. Nearly 28% of the team’s completions have gone to Wilson, who ranks 25th among receivers with 395 yards. The first-round pick from Ohio State missed last week with a knee sprain. Despite missing Week 7, Wilson still is tied for 13th among receivers with 52 targets.

WR Tyler Johnson led the team with 60 receiving yards in Week 7 without Wilson, while WR Josh Reynolds received nine targets. Rookie TE Mason Taylor is second on the team in targets (30), receptions (24) and yards (208) this season.

The Jets offense has been built around running the football. On top of Fields’ ability to use his legs (first in QB rush yards), RB Breece Hall ranks in the top 20 in yards per carry (4.5) and yards after contact per carry (3.2) among backs with at least 25 carries. New York RB Braelon Allen is out for the next eight to 12 weeks with a knee injury.

New York’s offensive line has given up the most sacks in the NFL through seven games, allowing Taylor and Fields to be sacked a combined 31 times. Fields has faced 84 dropbacks under pressure in six games, a top 10 figure, while Taylor has faced 43 in three games played, per Pro Football Focus.
