During her State of the State speech, Gov. Kathy Hochul said she would allow New Yorkers to sue U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in state court for civil rights violations.

The governor vowed to prevent them from entering certain “sensitive” locations without a judicial warrant.

Meanwhile, there are a number of proposed bills in the state legislature that aim to keep ICE agents in check, including the Reporting of Arrests, Detentions, Actions and Removals (RADAR) Act.

The bill would require the state to create an online database to track the deployment of ICE agents.

State Assemblymember Tony Simone, who introduced the RADAR Act, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Wednesday to discuss more.

He represents neighborhoods in Manhattan, including Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen and Midtown.
