Two people were killed and an older woman was injured in the Bronx on Thursday morning in what appeared to be a murder-suicide among family members, police said.

NYPD officials said the incident unfolded just before 8 a.m., when police officers responded to a call about multiple shots fired inside an apartment building on Johnson Avenue near Kappock Street in Spuyten Duyvil.

The officers found a 55-year-old man and 59-year-old woman both shot in the head, and an 86-year-old woman shot in her face.

First responders pronounced the man and the younger woman dead at the scene, according to the NYPD.

The older woman was taken to Harlem Hospital in critical condition, police said. Officials said the three people were all related, but they are still investigating how.

Authorities said the man fired the shots, but they are still exploring a motive.

Police did not make any immediate arrests in the case.
