An Upstate New York woman has won a top prize on the New York Lottery’s “Win $1,000 A Week For Life” scratch-off game.

Joan Scites of Godeffroy (Orange County) purchased the winning ticket at O’Dells Market, located in Cuddebackville.

The game comes with a guaranteed minimum payout of $1 million. She chose to receive the prize as a lump sum payment of $458,272 after required withholdings, rather than the annuity option.

Seven top prizes remain available on this scratch-off game, according to lottery officials. Players can verify the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game by accessing the Game Report on nylottery.ny.gov.

Scratch-off games generated $4.3 billion in total sales during the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Orange County school districts received $110.6 million in lottery aid to education funds during that same period.
