MOTT HAVEN, Bronx (WABC) — A man apparently irate that he was being ejected from a subway train allegedly headbutted one police officer and spat on another officer and an MTA worker early Thursday morning.
The man was instructed to leave the northbound 6 subway train by police just after 2:15 a.m. in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx.
As he was being escorted off the train, his foot became stuck between the train car and the platform.
The man became angry and began attacking the officers, the NYPD said. One was headbutted, and he spat at another.
An MTA employee who came over to assist was also spit on.
The two officers and the MTA employee were taken to Lincoln Hospital to be checked out.
The suspect was taken to Jacobi Hospital for evaluation. Charges against him are pending.
