STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is highlighting recent gun arrests on the North Shore of Staten Island.

Officers Nacchio and Abdella are credited with two gun arrests this week. At least one of the apprehensions was made while patrolling “violence reduction zones,” according to the 120th Precinct in a Thursday post on X, formerly Twitter.

A photo attached to the message shows a black Ruger handgun, a magazine and six bullets.

On Monday, the precinct posted on X that Officers Abdella and Nacchio conducted a traffic stop.

“The occupants fled on foot and officers gave chase through snow and ice,” according to the message on X. “Officers apprehended the suspect and recovered this 9mm firearm with an extended 20 round magazine.”
