NEW YORK (PIX11) – The Mamdani administration saw an unexpected shakeup this week with the resignation of Zach Iscol, the commissioner of New York City Emergency Management.

Former Mayor Eric Adams appointed Iscol early in his term. He’s been in the role since February 2022.

As commissioner, Iscol led the city’s emergency response spanning from weather events to the migrant crisis. His last day will be Feb. 11, and he will remain at the helm of the department through this weekend’s snowstorm.
