The latest forecast is “[h]eavy snow expected Sunday morning into Sunday night, transitioning to wintry mix for the city/coast Sunday evening/night.” We may have “near whiteout conditions.” We have received notice that Grace Church has cancelled its Sunday morning worship service and postponed its Annual Meeting until the following Sunday, February 1. We don’t know of service cancellations by other houses of worship; you may wish to confirm before attending. We also know the Brooklyn Women’s Exchange will not have its usual Sunday shopping hours. Other businesses, including medical offices, pharmacies, and restaurants, may not open or may close early; again, best to check. We know that the Brooklyn Heights Library will be closed. Anyone who knows of any other planned Sunday closures, please let us know with a comment.
As reported by Gothamist, Mayor Mamdani has decided Monday will not be a “snow day” for public schools. If access to school buildings is deemed unsafe, students will have to attend classes on line. Both bus and subway service may be affected; best to check the MTA website.
