Rome is set to be the centre of the global debate on the future of food this week, and Spain’s Queen Letizia will be one of the event’s key figures. Making a lightning trip to the Italian capital, the queen will appear World Food Day ceremony, organized by the FAO this Thursday, October 16, as part of its 80th anniversary.

Letizia is expected to share the stage with Pope Leo XIV, and will be in the company of other high profile guests including the President of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi Martínez, King Letsie III of Lesotho, former UN President Ban Ki-moon, and leaders of agencies such as the WFP and IFAD.
