Manhattan High girls’ basketball navigated winter weather and a hot-shooting opponent to earn a 54–45 road win at Blue Valley-Stilwell on Friday, continuing its strong start to Centennial League play.

The game was moved up earlier in the day as a winter storm swept across Kansas, but Manhattan showed little effect from the disruption. The Indians settled in defensively and wore the Tigers down over four quarters to pull away late.

Sophomore Evie Banks led the way with 19 points, pacing Manhattan as it controlled the game down the stretch and secured another road victory.

The win pushed 6A No. 8 Manhattan to 9–2 overall and 3–0 in league play.

Up next, Manhattan faces a busy stretch with three games in three days Thursday through Saturday at the McPherson Tournament.
