NEW YORK (PIX11) – A winter storm warning remains in effect as residents of New York prepare for up to a foot of snow on Sunday. One thing is for sure: there will not be a snow day – learning will continue.
Many New Yorkers are still wondering: Are New York City Public Schools offering in-person or remote learning?
New York City Mayor Zohran Mandani addressed this on social media.
“My ask to [New Yorkers] is to avoid unnecessary travel on Sunday. We’re coordinating with the MTA to ensure that public transit continues. We’re coordinating with the MTA to ensure that public transit continues running as smoothly as possible,” Mamdani said in a video posted to his official X account.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani also noted in his post that a decision on whether to have in-person or virtual learning will be made by noon on Sunday.
A New York City Department of Sanitation worker jokingly added, “To all our school kids, that means the next time you see the mayor, you can get him with a snowball.”
