Soprano Taylor Burgess, a 2014 Riverhead High School graduate who performs internationally in opera and jazz, will present “Winter Moon: A Tribute to the Harlem Renaissance” at the Jamesport Meeting House on Feb. 8. Burgess is currently appearing in “Porgy and Bess” at the Metropolitan Opera.

The program is a Black History Month concert that draws on the work of Harlem Renaissance poets and writers, including Langston Hughes, Laurence Hope and James Weldon Johnson. Burgess will be joined by pianist Eunha So. The repertoire includes works by Harry T. Burleigh and Duke Ellington, along with contemporary compositions by Ricky Ian Gordon and Pete Malinverni, spanning spirituals, art songs and jazz.

The performance begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20, available in advance online and will at the door, as available.
