NEW YORK (PIX11) — As New York City is facing a massive winter snowstorm, LaGuardia Airport shut down Sunday afternoon, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Ninety-one percent of flights, 433 flights, were canceled at LaGuardia Airport in New York. New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport had 458 flights canceled, about 75% of flights, according to FlightAware.
The shutdown went into effect at around 1:00 p.m. and is expected to end at 8:00 p.m., according to the FAA.
PIX11 News reached out to the Port Authority and the FAA for comment, but they were not immediatley available to comment.
