NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Heavy snow means treacherous roads across New York City, but snow plows will be hard at work keeping up.

As soon as there is 2 inches of snow accumulation, New York City sends out its fleet of snow plows. You can track their progress using an interactive map, PlowNYC.

The upper right corner of the website will tell you what time the website was last updated.

The color-coded map will tell you how recently a street was plowed, whether it was within the past hour or over 36 hours ago.

Snow started early Sunday morning and hasn’t stopped since. The region can expect a foot of snow before the storm passes on Monday afternoon.

It’ll come with extremely cold temperatures, plummeting to 12 degrees on Friday.
