NEW YORK (PIX11) – Food delivery app DoorDash has suspended service in New York City on Sunday due to the winter storm dumping snow across the region.

Customers won’t be able to place orders until at least 10 a.m. on Monday, the company announced.

“We encourage everyone in affected areas to follow local guidance and take necessary precautions, and we will resume operations as soon as it’s safe to do so,” said DoorDash spokesperson Jenn Rosenberg.

DoorDash said it will continue to monitor the weather conditions closely. New York City and the surrounding area are projected to get up to a foot of snow by Monday, according to PIX11 meteorologists.

The winter storm has already caused mayhem across the tri-state area, forcing changes to transit service and shutting down roadways.

PIX11 News reached out to other food delivery apps to see if they were continuing operations.
