Although David and Victoria Beckham haven’t directly addressed the allegations made by son Brooklyn Beckham, they have been fairly active on social media over the weekend. Most recently, David and son Romeo had an exchange on their Instagram Stories, which some are taking as a bit of a dig at Brooklyn. Awkward.

ICYMI (how?!), Brooklyn shared six separate Stories to explain how he felt he’d been left with “no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth.” He went on to allege that the night before his wedding to Nicola in 2022, he was told she was “not family”, claiming the couple had suffered “endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.”

He then claimed his dad David had “refused all of our attempts” at quality time, “unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.”

So far, neither David or Victoria have spoken out about the alleged family rift, but they have returned to Instagram – firstly with the fashion designer sharing a birthday post for Spice Girl’s bandmate Emma Bunton’s birthday.

Brooklyn’s brothers Cruz and Romeo then took to Instagram to share their own posts (although none directly relating to the incident), and now, David has done the same.

He and Romeo exchanged a bit of banter on Instagram Stories about the Premier League, with Arsenal (Romeo’s team) storming ahead of Man United (David’s team, obviously) in the standings.

As fans of football and theBeckham documentary will know, David played for Manchester United from 1992 to 2003, and has since been a lifelong fan. Romeo, meanwhile, joined Arsenal’s football academy in 2015, and has been a fan since childhood.

Footie banter, as they say.

Back in October, Victoria told Zanna Roberts Rassi that it’s “so horrible” to read negative headlines about her family, adding “for me and David, the way we communicate with our children is so important.”

She later said on Today With Jenna & Friends: “I’m so proud of all of the kids. They are kind. They work hard.”

And speaking back in 2023 to Cosmopolitan, Nicola also said: “I’ve said this so many times: There’s no feud. I don’t know. No one ever wants to write the nice things. It’s really weird, actually, whether it’s my life or someone else’s life or whatever, when you know the truth and then you read something totally wrong.”
