FLORAL PARK, Long Island (WABC) — A retired NYPD officer is among at least two people who died while shoveling snow during the storm in the Tri-State area.
Roger McGovern, 60, an usher at Our Lady of Victory Church, collapsed while shoveling in Floral Park on Sunday.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
The church held a virtual rosary service on Sunday night.
Additionally, officials say a 67-year-old man was found unresponsive on a sidewalk in Verona, New Jersey, with a shovel in his hand.
He was taken to a local hospital but was pronounced dead.
His identity has not been released.
