BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Despite Monday being a school “remote-learning” day, kids in Brooklyn Heights somehow managed to make snow angels and go sledding.

One of the most popular sledding spots was Hillside Park, the dog park on Columbia Heights between Middagh and Vine Streets. Other top neighborhood sledding venues include Clumber Corner, at Washington and Prospect streets in DUMBO, and the mildly-sloped Main Street Lawn in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

An “official” sledding hill wasn’t required on Monday, however. Kids used their ingenuity to create temporary slopes, taking advantage of the deep snow piles that covered steps around the neighborhood. One of these momentary hills was found in front of the War Memorial in Cadman Plaza Park, where youngsters attempted to snowboard on plastic sleds.
