The monster snow and ice storm hitting New Jersey on Sunday has caused significant flight cancellations at Newark Liberty International Airport.
At least 894 arriving and departing flights are canceled for Sunday as of 7:30 a.m., according to FlightAware data.
Another 235 flights are canceled already for Monday.
United Airlines leads the cancellations with 451 flights grounded on Sunday.
More than 9,700 total flights were canceled on Sunday across the United States as of early Sunday.
Charlotte Douglas International Airport reported the highest total followed by Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, according to FlightAware.
Newark, JFK and LaGuardia airports all rank in the top five for cancellations nationally.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill declared a state of emergency for all 21 counties ahead of the storm and urged residents to stay home.
A commercial vehicle travel ban and speed restrictions are in place for major highways to give road crews room to work.
NJ Transit suspended buses and light rail early Sunday and train service will be shut down after 2 p.m.
Winter storm warnings remain in effect for all New Jersey counties through 1 p.m. Monday.
