LYONSDALE, New York (WWNY) – A Albany-area man was killed Saturday evening after he was struck by a truck on his snowmobile, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
Joseph Harrington, 56, was snowmobiling in the Town of Lyonsdale around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, when a pickup truck on Marmon Road struck Harrington, who died on the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office said Harrington failed to stop at a stop sign before entering the road, and an investigation is ongoing.
Lewis County Sheriffs were assisted on the scene by Boonville Ambulance, Port Leyden Ambulance, Lewis County Search and Rescue, Port Leyden Fire Department, Lyons Falls Fire Department, and Unlimited Collision.
