STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities are investigating the deaths of several people during the snowstorm in New York City, according to media reports.

Eight people were found dead outdoors on Sunday and Monday in the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn, according to News 4 New York.

During a news conference on Monday, Mayor Zohran Mamdani was questioned about the deaths.

“I think that the difficulty we have, frankly, is that it is still too early to attribute the cause of death, and therefore, it’s too early to tie it to the storm specifically,” the mayor said about the deaths.

The mayor said officials are awaiting autopsy reports to determine the cause and manner of death.
