English singer-songwriter Lily Allen and Stranger Things actor David Harbour have closed another chapter in the dissolution of their marriage by offloading their beloved Brooklyn abode. Two weeks after they reportedly lowered the asking price, the ex-couple finally found a buyer. Allen and Harbour originally listed the dwelling just shy of $8 million in October, but opted to sell the property, which was listed through Compass, for $7 million—a million dollars less than the initial asking price.
Prior to their public split last year, the estranged duo shared a 4,000-square-foot brownstone in Carroll Gardens, a wealthy enclave nestled in the upper west corner of Brooklyn. The two married in Las Vegas in 2020, and later purchased the late 19th-century home in 2021 for $3.35 million. The maximalist Carroll Gardens dwelling spans five levels, and features five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Allen and Harbour tapped AD100 designer Billy Cotton and architect Ben Boschoff of MADE to elevate the property with traditional English, modern Brooklyn, and classic Italian design cues “as if they’d inherited the home from a kooky Italian nonna with fabulous taste,” Cotton said during AD’s February 2023 home tour.

The charming residence opens to a living room occupying the main floor with a vibrant green ceiling, a fireplace, ornate crown moldings, and direct access to the yard. A kitchen-slash-dining area—aka, the “beating heart of the house” according to Harbour—is outfitted with Plain English cabinetry, a massive island, and a custom-built banquette clad in brown and white gingham. “Lily is someone who lives with color in a deeper way than most,” Harbour told AD at the time. “Her taste is bold, silly, fun, eccentric—it’s exciting.”
