The New York state inspector general’s office is responsible for the internal oversight of government offices. This week, New York’s IG is hosting an event in Albany highlighting the role that inspectors general have played over the last 250 years in the United States.

In recognition of the United States’ 250th birthday, and the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Offices of the New York State Inspector General (OIG), the New York State Archives, New York State Museum, New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP), and OIG will bring together leading experts to explore and celebrate New York’s vital role in the birth, development, and future of inspectors general. That will happen on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the New York State Museum.
