“He was identified through Walmart’s internal theft prevention system as being a suspect throughout the Eastern Seaboard,” Hudson police Capt. Patrick Broderick said.

The investigation connected Shearin to multiple thefts across Hudson at the Walmart and local Hannaford grocery store, police said.

“They applied for a search warrant and found approximately 455 over-the-counter medications inside the vehicle,” Broderick said.

Broderick speculated that those medications were being sold to smaller stores in the New York area. He said Shearin wasn’t working alone.

“We know of at least one other suspect that we are actually seeking to extradite from the state of New York, and we’ve issued a warrant for his arrest,” Broderick said.

Officials said investigators in New England and New York will continue to share information and resources during the ongoing investigation.
