STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — One person was injured Tuesday night in a multi-vehicle collision in Richmond.
According to an FDNY spokesperson, the crash occurred at around 6:10 p.m. near the intersection of Richmond Road and Kensico Street.
Shortly after the crash, a Mercedes SUV and a Jeep sat wrecked in the middle of Richmond Road, both showing significant damage. Pieces of both vehicles could be seen scattered throughout the roadway and on the slushy sidewalk.

One individual was transported by FDNY/EMS in an unknown condition to Northwell Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, the FDNY spokesperson said.
A reporter at the scene heard a man, believed to be one of the drivers, tell an NYPD officer that he had a broken hand.
Traffic along Richmond Road from Kensico to Spruce Street was blocked off as both vehicles were removed from the roadway.
The NYPD was unable to immediately provide additional information regarding the crash.
