Fast-food fans are in for some excitement at McDonald’s this week, as the burger chain introduces McDonald’s new Hot Honey Sauce and its accompanying hot-honeyed sandwiches (including a saucy new Snack Wrap).
And McDonald’s is also bringing back a fan-favorite ’80s Happy Meal toy that young fans are sure to be excited about. McDonald’s Changeables toys are making a comeback.
Changeables Happy Meal toys
Changeables are a series of Transformer-like toys based on items from the restaurant’s menu. They were first introduced in 1987 with Chicken McNuggets, Big Mac, Milkshake, Egg McMuffin, Fries, and Quarter Pounder toys that all transformed into robots. McDonald’s would later introduce two additional series of Changeables in 1989 and 1990, but they haven’t been around since.
But now, the shape-shifting Changeables have returned in 16 collectible versions inspired by items you see in the restaurants.
They include: Cap Cap, a McDonald’s hat; Teef Rex, a McDonald’s Happy Meal box; FR-13S, a container of fries; Galla, a bag of apples; Vash, a Chicken McNugget box; Drinkobius-999, a soda fountain; Fergon, a wrapped hamburger; d1v4, an unwrapped cheeseburger; Kurtis The Divine, a grill; Boo Bot, a jack-o’-lantern Boo Bucket; Pterabagdyl, a McDonald’s bag; Sizzlesaurus, a frier; X-Ch4ng3, a cash register; Torrus, a locker; Min-ee, a Happy Meal display case; and Ki0, a digital ordering kiosk. And each of the toys then changes into something else — either a robot, dinosaur, or another character.
One Changeables toy comes inside a Happy Meal — including the Hamburger Happy Meal, 4-Piece McNuggets Happy Meal, and 6-Piece McNuggets Happy Meal.
