On Wednesday, January 21st, the United Community Civic Association (UCCA) held their Annual Board of Directors meeting at which two new board members were sworn in. Judge Peter Vallone Jr. officiated the swearing in of Dianna Loiselle and Carolyn Simeone. UCCA President RoseMarie Poveromo highlighted the many accomplishments and ongoing annual events of UCCA over the last 34 years. She also spoke of the issues of concern going forward. Poveromo pointed out UCCA’s dedicated commitment to the community. The board members enjoyed a very special meal at Telly’s Taverna on 23rd Avenue in Astoria. The Board members were enthusiastic about the prospects of a better tomorrow with the consistency of today’s board. Poveromo spoke eloquently about issues of vital relevance to the community and detailed the upcoming plans for 2026 and beyond.
