Around the world, from the Far East to the East Coast, the number eight is associated with wealth, prosperity, and status. Just ask Utah-based beauty industry magnate Sandie Tillotson, who has hoisted her 8,000-square-foot full-floor pied-à-terre perched on the 80th floor of New York City’s 80 Columbus Circle up for grabs at—you got it!—$80 million. Eva Mohr of Sotheby’s International Realty holds the numerically fortuitous listing.
Records indicate the co-founder and senior vice president of Nu Skin Enterprises signed a contract to acquire two adjacent units in 2001, while the two-towered development was still under construction as the Time Warner Center. She didn’t close on the deal until 2005 for just under $30 million, according to records. The complex is now called the Deutsche Bank Center.

Since then, the two units that cap the ultra-luxe Residences at the Mandarin Oriental have been combined into a single residence comprising an entire floor with capacious living and entertaining spaces along with five (and potentially up to seven) bedrooms serviced by eight full bathrooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows surround the rhombus-shaped aerie with spine-tingling views that stretch from the Manhattan skyline to Connecticut and across New Jersey to Pennsylvania.
Floor plans show the front door opens directly into a massive living room that all by itself spans 1,500 square feet. A fireplace anchors one end of the 55-foot-long space with cotton-white walls and oversized herringbone-pattern hardwood floors that flow throughout the apartment. Nearby are a den and a dining room, both overlooking the entirety of Central Park, and the 45-foot-long kitchen configured around a huge island. The adjoining breakfast room floats over the urban landscape, while a large laundry room and a service kitchen are fully stocked with two wine fridges, a couple of built-in ice makers, and two sinks, one for preparing flower arrangements and another for bathing pets.

Four secondary bedrooms for family and guests are lined up along the western flank, each with a private bathroom. Clustered with the bedrooms is a multicolored media room, which is convertible to a sixth bedroom, while the den, situated between the living and dining rooms, is also convertible to a bedroom. The primary suite spans the entire south side of the apartment, with additional exposures to the east and west. A central gallery connects the sprawling retreat’s fireside sitting room and 29-foot-long bedroom to its dual closets and bathrooms, morning kitchen, and safe room.
