DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — BROOKLYN ACADEMY OF MUSIC expanded its Winter/Spring 2026 season with two New York premieres by the Mark Morris Dance Group and a new opera production, alongside updated details for several major returning programs. The additions were announced on Tuesday.
The Mark Morris Dance Group premieres “MOON” and “Via Dolorosa” as part of its 45th anniversary season, along with a revival of “V.” American Opera Projects premieres “The Post Office,” which features set designs by Charles Renfro of Diller Scofidio + Renfro.
BAM also released new programming details for core engagements. DanceAfrica 2026 will spotlight the music and culture of Uganda, while Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s June run will include works by Judith Jamison, Medhi Walerski and Alvin Ailey himself at the Howard Gilman Opera House.
The BAM Fisher will host two building-wide Fisher Takeovers: Omar Offendum’s Bringing the Shãm and the annual Pride celebration Everybooty.
The season also includes major theatrical and dance works, concerts and festivals. Tickets went on sale for members on Tuesday and will be available to the public on Thursday.
