Christopher Moss, 38, of Brooklyn, is accused of putting his alleged boyfriend’s corpse in a trash bin, prosecutors say.
Darrell Montgomery’s body was discovered in a garbage bin outside 557 East 21st St., according to police. Police sources say his body was severely underweight.
Moss claims Montgomery was already dead when he discovered his body Friday morning.
“We used methamphetamines on a consistent basis. I discovered him deceased, and his body was stiff. I didn’t call the police. I tried to place his body in the garbage,” Moss said, according to court documents.
Moss was arraigned Tuesday for concealment of a human corpse, and a psychological evaluation is being ordered, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office.
Moss also faces an assault charge in connection to a violent struggle during his arrest Sunday, police sources say.
Moss’s bail was set at $20,000 cash/$40,000 bond bail for the assault charge, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office says.
According to the criminal complaint, Moss lived in the East 21st Street building for over four years and previously lived with Montgomery.
Neighbors told News 12 that Moss and Montgomery were partners and were known to fight often.
The medical examiner will determine Montgomery’s official cause of death.
