Sir David Beckham has publicly congratulated his longtime friend Marc Anthony on the news that he is expecting his eighth child, just days after the escalating public feud with son Brooklyn.

The Latin music producer, 57, and his wife Nadia Ferreira, 26, shared a joint Instagram post of her pregnant belly with three hands—presumably hers, Anthony’s and their son Marco’s—resting on it.

“Happy 3rd anniversary!! What a great gift life gives us. God is great. Marquito is going to be a big brother,” she wrote in her caption.

Beckham wrote in a comment on the post: “Soooooo excited [red heart emojis].”

Newsweek reached out to Marc Anthony’s management team for comment via email.

In the past, the couple kept Marco out of public view, and Ferreira still hasn’t revealed her son’s face on social media.

The news landed amid an unexpectedly tangled web of celebrity family drama centering around Brooklyn Beckham and his public feud with parents Sir David and Victoria Beckham.

The Grammy Award–winning singer, who married the Paraguayan model and former Miss Universe runner-up in January 2023, already shares a blended brood of seven children.

In addition to Marco, his children include Arianna, 31, and Chase, 28, from his relationship with Debbie Rosado; Cristian, 24, and Ryan, 22, with ex-wife Dayanara Torres; and 17-year-old twins Emme and Maximilian with Jennifer Lopez.

While the announcement was largely met with congratulations, including actress Clarissa Molina, Stephania Stegman and longtime friend Sir David Beckham, it also intersected with a separate public drama that has kept Anthony’s name circulating in news headlines.

Last week, Brooklyn Beckham—the eldest son of Sir David and Victoria—issued a searing Instagram statement outlining profound grievances against his parents.

In the statement, Brooklyn, 26, said he “does not want to reconcile” with his parents, accusing them of controlling his life and media narrative for years and alleging they undermined his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.

Among several personal anecdotes, Brooklyn claimed that during his 2022 wedding reception—where Anthony performed—his mother allegedly “hijacked” the couple’s first dance in a moment he described as humiliating.

DJ Fat Tony, who made an appearance on the U.K.’s This Morning, Anthony referred to Victoria, 51, as the “most beautiful woman in the room” during the “humiliating” moment.

Peltz Beckham said that Victoria took over his and Nicola’s planned first dance at their wedding. He said the dance had been organized “weeks in advance to a romantic love song.”

He wrote on Instagram stories: “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.”
