A Parked Van Went Up in Flames on Manhattan Avenue

A parked white van caught on fire in the early hours of January 28.

The FDNY received a call at 1:42 am for a car fire in front of God Bless USA Deli (818 Manhattan Avenue).

According to a reader who sent in photos, it was quite the inferno. Thankfully, no one was injured. The FDNY suspects it was a transformer fire.

The van’s charred remained on scene yesterday but have since been removed.
