NEW YORK (PIX11) — Thousands are expected to gather for protests across the country as part a nationwide strike against ICE on Friday.
The action, called “ICE Out” comes as a response to federal agents shooting and killing Minneapolis residents Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti in January.
To stand in solidarity with protesters in Minneapolis, organizers are calling on residents in other cities to not shop and not attend work or school on Friday for the nationwide strike.
Protesters will call on lawmakers to pass the New York For All Act, which would “stop state and local law enforcement and government agencies from colluding with ICE, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and all federal agencies conducting civil immigration enforcement.”
