The Manhattan High boys struggled to keep up versus a balanced and talented Blue Valley team, falling on the road to the Tigers, 71-48. 

The Indians were held to just two buckets in the first quarter, and trailed 13-5. 

In the second, Manhattan’s scoring ramped up, but the deficit stayed at eight points as Blue Valley took a 27-19 lead into the break. 

The Tigers doubled that lead in the third quarter, jumping ahead 47-31 heading in to the final period. 

The Indians deficit passed the 20-point mark midway through the fourth quarter. 

Will Carpenter and Vince Doering carried the majority of the scoring burden for the Indians. Carpenter put up 30 points followed by 12 for Doering. 

For Blue Valley, Enoch Rodriguez led the way, scoring 22 points, including seven 3-pointers. Brendan Walsh had 18 points and Parker Seithel scored 16. 

The Indians will hit the road next week to play Great Bend on Tuesday before returning to home on Friday for a league game versus Emporia.
