FDNY responds to all-hands fire in Travis

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Firefighters from multiple companies responded to a fire in Travis on Saturday night.

The blaze was reported just around 8:05 p.m. in a 2-story building at 10 Leroy St. between Victory Boulevard and Cannon Avenue.

Victory Boulevard is closed to traffic in both directions due to the large number of FDNY trucks and ambulances on the scene.

Patrons from the nearby West Shore Inn were seen standing outside, watching firefighters battle the blaze.

Firefighters stretched four lines while fighting the fire, and extensive damage to the building could seen.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, according to FDNY.
