ORLANDO, Fla. — Notre Dame Academy and St. Joseph Hill Academy, both competing in Small Varsity DII at the National High School Cheerleading Competition, have both reached Finals after two days of competition.
NDA’s Game-Day team, meanwhile, defied the odds as it advanced directly into Finals for the first time in program history. The Gators, earning first in the “B” bracket to bypass semis, earned second overall.
Both teams performed a solid routine on Friday night during prelims, with NDA hitting zero and earning third in the “A” bracket with a score of 82.8 while Hill, taking a 0.5 deduction, scored a 76.9.

On Saturday morning, it was the Hilltoppers’ turn to hit zero as they scored a 79.2 and 9th in the “C/D” bracket, which was just enough to earn their spot in Finals. NDA, meanwhile, took a one-point deduction to earn a score of 81.8, earning fifth in the “A/B” bracket and punching their spot in the final round.
Now, Hill and NDA will go head-to-head for the first time in competition as both enter the final day of competition. Competing in the State Farm Field House, the Hilltoppers will take the mat at 5:08pm while the Gators compete at 6:04pm.
In addition, competing in Medium Game-Day II, NDA will perform at 9:51am at The Athletic Center Sunday morning.
The competition, for those not in Florida, will be streamed on Varsity TV.
