Sunday is the final day of early voting for the special election in New York state’s 61st Senate district.
The race is to determine who will fill the seat vacated by Sean Ryan, who is now Buffalo’s mayor.
Democratic candidate Jeremy Zellner is running against Republican candidate Dan Gagliardo for the seat.
Erie County Board of Election officials say that on Saturday, a little more than 1,200 people came out to vote on the eighth day of early voting.
Polls are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Election Day is Tuesday.
