BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Casey McKinney poured in 36 points and Jamielyn Chin added 17 markers as Susan Wagner defeated Summit Academy, 69-53, in a non-league road game on Saturday.
“We’re two teams who know each other very well,” said SW head coach Tom Rizzo. “We’ve faced each other numerous times in big games particularly the playoffs. Coming into their home court we knew they’d be tough. To come home with a win against Summit this late in the season will only help us with the playoffs upon us.”
SW led 38-30 at the half and 47-41 after three quarters.
Danielle Harrell contributed 11 points for the Falcons, who improved to 15-7 overall.
“We’re starting to get more contributions all around,” said Rizzo. “Jamie and Dani really stepped up today to help take a little of the scoring burden off Casey’s shoulders. It’s been a work in progress all season and I’m pleased where we are collectively at this point. We’ll continue to work hard with two more league games this week and then prepare for the playoffs.”
