A man and dog were found dead Sunday inside a mobile veterinary van in Flushing, Queens, according to New York City police and other law enforcement sources.

Officers made the discovery at 157-18 65th Ave. near Parsons Blvd. shortly before 9:30 A.M. The man was identified only as 57-years-old. A law enforcement source tells NBC New York that a 74-year-old man came out of the van and fell. He was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and is recovering.

Investigators are looking into whether carbon monoxide could have played a role in the deaths, the source said. The van — a 1997 Ford — has North Carolina license plates, according to the source.
