Hyundai has issued a safety recall for airbag issues in newer models of one of its popular SUVs.

Around 568,575 vehicles are affected by the recall, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

According to documents filed with the highway safety agency, third-row side curtain airbags may not deploy properly in the event of a crash.

This recall affects 2020-2025 model years of Hyundai’s Palisade SUV.

The auto manufacturer warned that an investigation into the cause of the airbag issue is still ongoing.

As such, a fix for the issue is still being developed, according to Hyundai.

The manufacturer will contact owners by mail beginning on March 23.

Palisade owners can contact the company’s customer service line at (855) 371-9460 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s safety hotline at (888) 327-4236 to see if they are affected by the recall.

In December, Hyundai issued a recall for approximately 51,500 vehicles because of a fire risk from wiring in an optional trailer hitch.

In November, around 85,000 vehicles were recalled for possible melting fuel tanks in certain years of Hyundai Sonata sedans.
