STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is asking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual wanted for questioning in connection with a burglary that occurred in Stapleton early last month.

According to police, on Monday, Jan. 5 at around 12:20 p.m., an unidentified man entered a home located in the vicinity of Laurel Avenue and Warren Street by breaking the rear window to gain entry.

After gaining entry, police say the individual exited through the front door with a hand truck, removing a refrigerator and a stove before fleeing into the Stapleton Houses at 45 Warren, St., to parts unknown.

The suspect is described by police as a male with a medium build, approximately 50 to 60 years old with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket, black pants, black boots and a multi-colored winter hat, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance photos of the sought individual.
