New York’s very own Staten Island Chuck predicted whether or not we will, beyond a shadow of a doubt, see more winter.

The groundhog was ranked as the most accurate weather-predicting groundhog in 2025 with an 85% accuracy rate, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

On Monday, Feb. 2, Staten Island Chuck, who lives in the Staten Island Zoo in New York City, saw his shadow and predicted there would be more winter.

The event was livestreamed on Facebook, but it was closed to the public due to the weather, according to the Staten Island Zoo’s website.
