NEW YORK (PIX11) — As the spring semester begins, students in New York City are looking forward to mid-February, when they will have their next extended school break.

Valentine’s Day marks the start of the midwinter recess, when schools will be closed for a full week.

The midwinter recess runs from Feb. 16 to 20. Students will return to school on Monday, Feb. 23.

The midwinter recess will be the last extended break until the spring recess at the beginning of April.
