Switch problems at the Jamaica station have caused delays on multiple Long Island Rail Road lines.
Affected branches include: Babylon, where at least three eastbound trains have been canceled, in addition to others that have been delayed. Similar impacts are being seen on the Hempstead, Long Beach, Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches.
The LIRR called the switch problem “weather-related.” A spokesperson said the problem happened at around 4:06 p.m. and that the switch is now working, so any continuing issues are residual problems.
