Councilwoman Julie Won discusses her congressional bid

There are less than five months away from the primary election — where every seat in the House of Representatives will be on the ballot.

One of those races in the city is the 7th Congressional District, which is currently held by Re. Nydia Velázquez, who is retiring this year.

There are two candidates vying for the seat: Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso and state Assemblymember Claire Valdez.

However, the race got a little more crowded. Queens Councilwoman Julie Won officially filed to enter the race to represent the congressional district, which includes all or parts of Long Island City, Astoria, Sunnyside, Fort Greene, Greenpoint and Williamsburg.

Won joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Monday to discuss her campaign.
