BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A murder mystery is unfolding in Brooklyn as the victim’s husband says he is desperately trying to identify who she was with in a Facebook video she posted shortly before her death.

Michelle Montgomery, a 39-year-old mother of four, was found dismembered inside a Williamsburg apartment building.

“Find out what really happened,” Anthony Echevarria said. “That could be the biggest help to bring the dude that chopped up my wife to justice.”

Montgomery’s decapitated body was discovered around 9:30 a.m. Sunday inside a bag in the compactor room at the Borinquen Houses, according to police sources.

“Oh my God, who could do something like that to another person?” questioned Celeste Turner, who has lived in the victim’s Gowanus apartment building for many years.

According to Montgomery’s final Facebook post at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, she was last seen dancing at Mama Tacos. Friends who reviewed the video believe she appears to be partying with at least two other people.

“We have no idea who that is,” a longtime friend wondered. “Usually when she goes out, she tags who she’s with.”

Echevarria said he does not know which friends Montgomery went out with or how she ended up dead inside the public housing complex. He said the most difficult moment was having to deliver the news to their children.

“I don’t even think they believe that this is really happening,” he said.

Montgomery is remembered as a devoted mother who worked overnight shifts at Amazon. The couple had welcomed a baby boy just 10 months ago, and those close to her say she appeared happy.

“I’m so sad for the children,” Turner said.

When asked if there was ever trouble she spoke about, “not at all,” a friend said, who described the news as “completely shocking.”

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is determining the cause and manner of her death. No arrests have been made.
