MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A man was arrested early Wednesday in connection with the theft of a pickup truck from an 85-year-old woman in Manhattan, officials said.
Riley County police filed a report of a vehicle theft around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of Crescent Drive in Manhattan.
The 85-year-old woman was listed as the victim in the case when it was reported that a suspect, who was known to her, stole her 2002 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Less than an hour after the report was filed, Riley County police arrested Michael Brooks, 33, of Manhattan, around 2:07 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of Humboldt Street in connection with the theft.
Brooks was subsequently booked into the Riley County Jail in connection with criminal deprivation of property; driving while suspended; possession of marijuana; interference with a law enforcement officer; and trafficking contraband into a correctional facility.
Brooks remained as of 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Riley County Jail, where officials said he was being held on a $7,500 bond.
